Super-Grow Has Reopened!

After a one-month shutdown while I took a trip to China I am back to North America. Currently some products are in short supply and they are being re-ordered from my suppliers.

I've been trying to clone things and do some general hydro with rock wool, humidity dome, heat pad, and netpots. After another user said he used Mycorrhizae on his clones, I had to try it with the small hydro setup. I had amazing top growth on the clones that was unexpected. I dropped up to half a spoon in the rock wool hole where the root resides. - John T, May 2006 User Group

Ordering Product Instructions Product FAQ

Humic substances are a complex mixture of organic materials that have already been partially decomposed. Much of the humic acid substances originates from prehistoric plant tissue that has been subjected to millions of years of bacterial activity, pressure and heat. This activity create an extremely rich type of compost-like nutrients that supply a large number of needed nutrients including micro-nutrients that are missing from more traditional plant nutrients. Humic substances are an excellent additive to traditional fertilizers that improve fertilizer effectiveness by making them more easily absorbed by plants. They are an important element to any natural growing environment and has been accepted by agricultural scientists as necessary for plant health for over 150 years. Because dry humic acid powder is mostly water-soluble it can be easily added to plant soil to restore depleted soil to a rich organic substance.

Instructions

Dry humic acid can be applied once a month at the rate of 1-2 oz. (28-57 grams) per 1000 square feet. Since most of the humic acid is water-soluble it will easily dissolve and be absorbed into the soil while the remainder will slowly break down.

Feedback from Alex, a Super-Grow customer and a member of the user group:

"I did a short and quick test and I estimate that about 80% of the solid is water soluble ("fulvic acid" is the name normally used for the water-soluble portion of "humic acids"). I sprinkled about 1/2 of the small spoonful (the one you normally ship with the GA3 and the fulvic acid powders, the one equiv. to 1/32 of a teaspoon) on top of the soil of TWO 12" diam. planters. I watered this planter three times a week with 3/4 of a gallon of plain tap water and after each watering, I tried to estimate how much of the humic acid was left. It takes between 12 days for all the humic acid to be completely dissolved."

Each order includes a measuring spoon that will hold about 0.1 grams; half of the spoon will be sufficient for 1 square foot once a month.

2. How Should Humic Acid Be Applied?

Humic Acid does not dissolve very well. This makes humic acid the wrong choice for a hydroponic system or foliar spraying. A much better choice for this is Fulvic Acid which is made from Humic Acid.
