WorldPay Credit Card System - Please Avoid

In the past Super-Grow used WorldPay for credit card transactions, but the cost was much to high and the service was quite poor. First, WorldPay's transaction fees are much higher compared to Paypal. Also WorldPay charges monthly fees while Paypal doesn't. Then WorldPay even charges more fees just to transfer money from your WorldPay account to your bank account; Paypal doesn't unless the amount transferred is very small and I've never had to pay any transfer fees. On top of that, since my bank was outside of the USA WorldPay even managed to charge another fee for that while Paypal doesn't. WorldPay managed to charge all kinds of extra fees at every turn. If you know anything about WorldPay you will know that WorldPay is owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland. Big surprise that a bank finds ways of charging extra fees at every turn.

Even worse is what happened after Super-Grow had enough of inflated WorldPay fees and we cancelled their service. First, it was noticed that the amount of money that was in Super-Grow's WorldPay account was not transferred into our bank account. After several months of waiting we contacted WorldPay for an explanation. WorldPay admitted that when a customer closes his WorldPay account WorldPay hangs on to the money unless the client explicitly asks for the money they keep it. I wonder how many people never get their money? It's pretty obvious that when customers close their account they want their money, but WorldPay just plays dumb. After I kicked up a fuss and some really lame WorldPay excuses WorldPay finally sent the money to my account, but made a point of acting like they were doing me a favor of some sort.

After I finally managed to get the money from WorldPay I still have more problems. Normally, when WorldPay remits money to a bank account we receive a statement outlining all the fees that were involved since the last bank remittance such as transition fees, monthly fees, remittance fees and such so at least we know what we are being charged. This time we received nothing, and thinking that it was a mistake we communicated with WorldPay customer service. Surprisingly, we were told that WorldPay would not provide the statement since Super-Grow wasn't a paying customer anymore and that we had to log into our account and figure it out ourselves. We are still trying to get WorldPay to provide the information on the fees that where charged, but we have to wonder what WorldPay is trying to hide.

Update - Another Worldpay Promise Not Kept

After much arguing I am still getting the same sleazy WorlPay behavior. I was promised (again) full accounting for all fees that WorlPay has charged. What did I get? Another email telling me that the money was sent to my account. I still don't know what transaction fees where charged on all the payments that customers made or how much was charged in monthly fees. The WorlPay festival of sleaze continues.
