Product OrderingCalibrating Power CloneGiven that there are so many different types of plants it makes sense that the same dose should not be used for all of these plants. It's the same thing for people and medication: every medication comes on different size pills and a doctor may have to try different ones for the same patient. How do you determine the best dosage for your plants? Start with some general rules. If you are working with hardwood you can try working with Power Clone at it's normal strength. But it would be wise to also try at half-strength and see which one works best. If you are working with other cuttings, such as softwood or even others you can try half-strength and one-quarter strength to see which one is best. Using Power ClonePower Clone 1 is water soluble, so you just add it to water and mix it. The standard concentration is 550 PPM, and the scoop that is included holds about 0.046 grams. Please keep in mind that the product was developed using willow, so the optimal dosage for willow is probably different for other types of plants. When using Power Clone 1 on other types of plants it is a good idea to try some lower concentration, such as half strength. If you are trying some harder to clone plants or plants with thicker stems you can also try a higher does. Filling the small white scoop up to the rim (not higher) will give you about 0.046 grams; if you have a digital scale please use that. To get the proper concentration of 550 PPM mix at the rate of 4 scoops with 0.33 liters of water.
Use 1 scoop (0.046 grams) to make 0.08 liters or 2.7 US liquid ounces; When I developed Power Clone 1 I used a 30 minute stem soak and then I rinsed the stems in water to remove the excess solution. From running all these tests I've found that it is important to not soak them to long or the plant will often get a deformed stem.
