Dahlia - RootTonicI've got a tree dahlia ... that I've over the years tried to root cuttings of in water without success. This year I again put three cuttings in water and there they sat for a couple of weeks and then I though to put a little of the roottonic mixed water into the jar and within a few days roots were forming and the cuttings starting growing. P.K., Seattle, Washington, June 3, 2005 User Group List HibiscusOne website (http://www2.hawaii.edu/~eherring/hawnprop/hib-arno.htm) recommends using Koob suggests 0.1% (1,000 PPM) indolebutyric acid (IBA) and 0.05% (500 PPM) naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) which is exactly what RootTonic Provides. Seed Soak - RootTonic... I used as a seed soak. I've had good results with 3-5PPM so far. It worked 4 hours faster under the same conditions with 12 seeds (squash and gourds) better than FastRoot powder and 33% more of the seeds started with the Root Tonic. JT, Tuesday, April 19, 2005 Yahoo User Group Plumeria - RootTonicI love your rootonic!! Second time I used it and 4 rooted within a few days after watering down the soil - one I have been trying to root since 10/04. [B.A., California, July 2, 2005 Email] the fulvic acid and root tonic combo is doing wonders with my plumeria.[D.S., User Group January 8 2006] MiscellaneousI did some transplanting this morning of plants I gave Rootonic to. They had small capillaries that I haven't seen from the other plants...[JT, User Group, May 1, 2005] The Root Tonic seems to have a good affect on tiny stemmed plants I'm growing. It promoted more seedlings to start 2 weeks after the 1st seeds came up in the Basil and Baby's Breath pots. It also brought back some withering Poppy seedlings (1.5 weeks old) from what I think was bad rooting. All these are from teeny tiny seeds and start with very fragile stems and leaves. There aren't too many fertilizers that I know you can use on seedlings that won't kill them in the process.[JT, User Group,Sat Apr 23, 2005] Product OrderingIn the past it was suggested to use one scoop of RootTonic to make one liter of solution. But there has recently been a couple of reports suggesting that 1 scoop was still to strong for some young plants. In my own work with it I recently took a flowering clematis that was planted in a bad place and I moved it to a better spot. After I moved it I sprayed some RootTonic (1 scoop to 1 liter) and while the leaves had no problem the flowers did.

For most uses one scoop of RootTonic is enough to make two liters of foliar spray solution. The first step is dissolving the RootTonic powder and then diluting the RootTonic powder.
Dissolving RootTonic
In a small glass container (the container in the picture above is a $0.50 salt shaker) put some alcohol (70% or more). You can use regular store-bought rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol is also known as isopropyl alcohol. I tested dissolving 1 scoop of RootTonic powder with a complete spoon (on the left) using a white plastic cafeteria spoon and then I used around 60% of a spoon (on the right). Both amounts worked just as well so using less is best. I gently shook the containers to help dissolve the RootTonic powder. RootTonic will not dissolve in water. Diluting RootTonicAfter dissolving the RootTonic (turned into liquid) then it can be mixed with water. As a general rule pour the dissolved RootTonic liquid into water; do not add water to the RootTonic/alcohol solution. Applying RootTonicRootTonic can be applied by spraying the plant with foliar spray until the solution drips of the plant. General informationContent Of 1/32 Spoon0.055 gramsComposition
